Dear Friends:
Wish you could have
seen
the impact of 2,100 walkers
the 300 support persons
the hundreds of people who lined our route
the little children who gave us candy and stickers
the little cute dogs dressed up in pink bows
all united by a common cause
Wish you could have
heard
the honks honking
the music playing
the “Thank You.”  “Thank You.”  “Thank You(s)”
all directed toward encouraging us
Wish you could have
tasted
the chips, peanuts, candy, cookies,
the ice cold bottles of water & Gator Aid
the frozen watermelon, orange halves, grape kabobs
the celery stuffed with peanut butter
the meals in the big tent, the really big ten
all to nourish us
Wish you could have
felt
the cold cloths dipped in ice water
the relief when Julie & I walked the last mile in stocking feet
the absolute joy when the 60 miles were finished
the absolute elation when the 60 miles were finished!
the tears when a father and teenage son remembered a special mom/wife
the thrill,  the deafening shout of joy
when your efforts and ours and everyone’s = $4,000,000
